We are not that type of nonprofit. What type of nonprofit, there is only 2 classes??
No change in governing structure after one year....next step is to submit a formal written notice, reguirement of the whistleblower act.
Several weeks ago I was handed my 1099.... as suspected, wrong entry in Item 7. Odd way it was typed up too.....all three were originals, second and third copy were on the duplicate type. 1099 comes in a set of 5, typed info on "red" copy, others are duplicates of the first. Why would a person type up 3 forms with the same name. Easier to outsource 1099s and pay a fee for the service. Members dues can take care of that.
Sent out over 50 emails about the upcoming due date to file Form 990. Thanks to the two who replied..... but, if you are registered as a "nonprofit" with the state, and your 15 month window to apply for IRS exemption has passed. You must apply as soon as possible. Do consult with an attorney or an agency that deals with nonprofits. 2012 is 11 months away.
CONGRADULATIONS to those associations who will be filing Form 990 by May 16th....baseball, football, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, etc. Shows you are accounting and reporting public funds that are paid to your associations. Thanks for following protocol without OVERSIGHT.

RUMOR MILL...has it that some associations are not issuing 1099s. Board members are not issued 1099s. Violations of IRS directives and GHSA bylaws. GHSA says "should issue ......". Should to many associations means "I do not have to issue 1099.
TAX LIABILITY. How much is your association's liability for 2010? 2009?? Only applies to associations without IRS tax exemption. Liability falls on the shoulders of board members!!
Game and Travel Fee payments equals public funds from tax payers.
