Associations should have an operating budget for the year. A basic budget will serve that purpose. A month of two before the first meeting. The treasurer should prepare and present a seasonal budget to the board of directors. Approval by the board of directors means the budget can to be shared with the general membership. This is a good way to do business. Be open!!

There is nothing to hide, when most of the information is available from the public domain. But there is one area that may stay hidden from the general membership. And its assignment fees paid to the booking agent. Speaking of the booking agent, he or she should be under contract or have agreement to be paid by the association after all officials have been paid.
