All school districts should have booster club guidelines
In 2011, more than one million dollars was stolen from booster clubs. Its estimated that the dollar amount could be higher. Largest thefts uncovered were $175,000 and $102,000.
Tennessee legislation in 2009, mandated that booster clubs be audited by the state's comptroller. This action has resulted in numerous cases of fraud reported to the state's attorney general.
